407GetDown.com asks : How important is education to you?
Ms. Stanberry : I believe that education is a very key component to succeeding in life. As a child education was preached to me as a very high priority in my household by my grandmother. I was taught that every generation has to be better than the next and to set an example for those relatives that will be traveling the same path I am now. I am the first on my dad's side to graduate and I look forward to getting my masters and one day my PhD.
407GetDown.com asks : What advice would you give incoming freshman?
Ms. Stanberry : With incoming freshman there is a lot they need to know. If I had to choose one thing I think will help them along their journey it would be, that they stay true to themselves and to their friends and family. When times get hard in college they will be the people who you will look to for strength and reassurance when the road gets rough and trust me it will.
407GetDown.com asks : Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Ms. Stanberry : In five years I would like to be married, be the mother of one and be working on my PhD. Charlyn added that she would continue her quest for doctrine at Florida State University and would like to work for the Chamber of Commerce in the future.
407GetDown.com asks : What quote do you live?
Ms. Stanberry : Luke 12:48
407GetDown.com asks : What is one thing people don't know about you?
Ms. Stanberry : (Laughing as she answers the question) I know when people read this there are not going to believe this but I am really a funny person. Most think that I am very blunt which I don't deny but I really do have a good sense of humor honestly.
407GetDown.com asks : What do you look for in a guy?
Ms. Stanberry : Well the first thing I look for is for the person to be honest. Charlyn adds but who doesn't want an honest person. I think the best quality I look for is for the person to be confident in who they are and just for them to be their self. It is nothing like being with a person and they are trying to be one person around you and then another their friends that is a major turn off.
407GetDown.com asks : What your most embarrassing moment?
Ms. Stanberry : I must say that it had to be when I was walking one day in front of the reflection pond and tripped. Some guy went out of his way to make it clear to everyone around that I tripped. What made it even worst he was across the on the other side of the reflection by the library yelling it out. Yes, I must say embarrassed I was that day.
407GetDown.com asks : What do you like to do for fun?
Ms. Stanberry : In my free time I enjoy watching soap opera's. (Bold & the Beautiful and the Young & Restless). One of my favorite things to do and something I am very passionate about is dancing. Charlyn has been dancing since she was the age of six, and we are not talking about doing the latest dances like the motorcycle and the leaning wit it and rocking wit. Charlyn is a great dancer in the art of ballet and jazz, when asked if she could dance in any production without a breath she responded Chicago. (Both of us laugh for a minute since she answered so quick making me understand that she takes dancing very seriously)
407GetDown.com asks : What do you like best about your job?
Ms. Stanberry : As she as she smiles and take a big sigh she replies, “You mean my life”. Ms. Stanberry works as a graduate assistant in the Greek life office. She is an advisor for the Divine 9 here on UCF's campus which she enjoys very much. I asked why does she refer to it as her life she added, because I enjoy meeting new and exciting people.
407GetDown.com asks : So what advice would you give someone who is looking to rush?
Ms. Stanberry : I can't stress this enough research, research, research. That is the one thing I think you must do before choosing a sorority or fraternity is research them first don't be influence by others and let them make the decision for you. Stay true to who you are and if you do so you will make the best decision for yourself because nobody knows you better than yourself at the end of the day.
407GetDown.com asks : What is your best memory?
Ms. Stanberry : I would have to say it would be when I was at the bedside of my grandmother before she passed. (She pauses as she fights back tears and then continues) I would say the time spent by her side I will always remember. Just the feeling of my grandmother knowing that I was there for her like she had been there for more over the years. I felt like I was paying homage for the things that she had done and the wisdom she passed on to me.
407GetDown.com asks : What is your biggest accomplishment?
Ms. Stanberry : That I am fulfilling my destiny that god has set forth for me and that I have stayed on that track.
407Getdown.com asks : So what do you think makes you on point?
Ms. Stanberry : As she repeats the question to herself she simply answers. I'm on point because I trust in God and believe in myself and I stay true to my friends and family.
